One of the most important Grand Challenges of the 21st Century is water, as it is the source of life and significantly intertwined with food and energy. This session, moderated by Greg Lewin, Chair of the WCEC, will provide perspective on the challenge of water from a European and U.S. basis. Carlos Negro, form the Spanish Chemical Engineering Society Anque, will discuss the issue from a European/Spanish perspective followed by June Wispelwey, Executive Director of the AIChE, who will discuss the issue relative to the U.S. Both will describe how chemical engineers are having an impact, and what more our profession can accomplish. The last part of the session will enable audience participation, so please come prepared with questions.
